If rumours are to be believed, it should be in March next year that the new Tesla pickup truck, will be revealed!
There’s much speculation about the new addition to the Tesla range, however Tesla is not the kind of car maker to release concepts that are not already scheduled for production and so it’s difficult to say exactly what their new vehicle will look like. With that in mind but with rumours already circulating, lets have a look at what we know so far…
A Tesla fan, namely Jason McGinnity, who recently completed an Internship at Tesla, has created a concept of the new Tesla Pickup which was part of his sponsored thesis project at the Art Center College of Design.
If Jason’s concept were to be put into production the electric pickup would be based on the Toyota FJ Cruiser and the Jeep Wrangler. It would boast 220 miles of driving from 70-kWh battery pack and have a price point of around $36,000. It would also have a removable, jerry-can inspired, 10-kWh battery pack which could extend the pickup’s range.
The new Tesla Pickup would have built-in air suspension capable of bringing the platform down for road driving or keeping it up for good clearance whenever needed.
